National Bank of Pakistan Student Loan Scheme 2015-16: Criteria, Procedure & Form


Pursuant to the announcement made by the Federal Finance Minister in his 2001-2002-budget speech, a STUDENTS LOAN SCHEME (SLS) for Education was launched by the Government of Pakistan in collaboration with major commercial banks of Pakistan (NBP, HBL, UBL, MCB and ABL). Under the Scheme, financial assistance is provided by way of Interest Free Loans to the meritorious students who have financial constraints for pursuing their studies in Scientific, Technical and Professional education within Pakistan.

The Scheme is being administered by a high powered committee comprising Deputy Governor, State Bank of Pakistan, Presidents of the commercial banks and representative of Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan.

Administrator of the Scheme: National Bank of Pakistan.

ELIGIBILITY • 


Under the scheme the students are eligible to apply for loans provided: 

i) He/She has obtained admission on merit through normal course/procedure in the approved Universities/Colleges of the public sector mentioned hereunder. 

ii) He/She falls at the time of admission within the age bracket of:- For Graduation Not exceeding 21 Years For Post-Graduation Not exceeding 31 Years For Ph.D Not exceeding 36 Years 

iii) He/She has secured 70% marks in the last public examination. 

iv) He/She has undertaken the study of the subjects given below. 

v) He/She is unable to pursue studies due to financial constraints. 


TYPES OF LOAN 


The loan facility will be available for entire duration of the study for:- Schedule Fee Paid directly to the Boarding expenses excluding meal charges University/College Procurement of textbooks --- Disbursed directly to the student 

REPAYMENT OF LOAN 

The maximum period of repayment of loan is 10-Years from the date of disbursement of first installment. The borrower shall repay the loan in monthly installment after six months from the date of first employment or one year from the date of completion of studies, which ever is earlier.

Application Forms are available from the designated branches mentioned above or may be downloaded from National Bank of Pakistan website www.nbp.com.pk/studentloan .

The students desirous of availing loan under the Scheme may apply on prescribed form for financial assistance subject to he or she has got admission on merit through normal procedure in the Universities/ Colleges afore-mentioned. 

Applicants are required to submit/send their applications on the prescribed form, duly completed in all respect, to the designated branches indicated against each University/College by the given date. Incomplete application shall not be entertained.

After the powerful and effective strikes by colleges affiliated with BZU Multan against New Paper pattern by BZU Multan. The Students of Govt Emerson College Multan, Govt College Sahiwal, Govt College DG Khan protest against BZU for new paper pattern. In result Bahaudin Zakriya University Multan has agreed to pull back his new scheme of paper.

All the examination of BS will be conducted in accordance with the old pattern of examinations.

Final term paper will contain 50 Marks and sessional marks will be 20.

 ملتان میں ایمرسن کالج کے طلبا کا امتحانات کے شیڈول میں تبدیلی کے خلاف بہائو الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی کے خلاف مرغا بن کر انوکھا احتجاج، ٹائر جلا کر سڑک بلاک کر دی۔
چونگی نمبر 6 پر ہونیوالے احتجاجی مظاہرے میں شریک ایمرسن کالج کے طلبا نے مرغا بن کر بہائو الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی انتظامیہ کے خلاف احتجاج کیا اور ٹائر جلا کر سڑک بلاک کر دی۔
مظاہرین نے بینرز اور کتبے اٹھا رکھے تھے جن پر نعرے درج تھے۔ اس موقع پر مظاہرین کا کہنا تھا کہ امتحانات کے شیڈول تبدیل ہونے سے 4 سالہ پروگرام کا دورانیہ 6 سال ہو جائے گا جس سے طلبا کی مشکلات میں اضافہ ہوگا۔
ان کا کہنا تھا کہ بہائو الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی نے ایوننگ کلاسز ختم کردی ہیں جس سے بھی طلبا متاثر ہو رہے ہیں۔ طلبا کا کہنا تھا کہ اگر بہائوالدین زکریا یونیورسٹی کی انتظامیہ نے ان کے مطالبات تسلیم نہ کئے تو وہ احتجاج کا دائرہ وسیع کردیں گے۔

State Bank of Pakistan-Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC) offers financial assistance by way of Merit Scholarship to the talented and meritorious children of its serving/retired/deceased employees (OG-2 and below).

Eligible Employees: The children of employees (serving/retired/deceased) up to OG-2 level only are eligible for the above Scholarship.

Study Level: Intermediate, graduate and post graduate

Intermediate Course:

Scholarships will be offered in Science, Economics and Commerce, Diploma of Associate Engineering Course from any Polytechnic Institute, Computer Science, and Information Technology from a reputed and recognized institution.

Graduation Course

Graduation Course in Science, Commerce, Business, Economics, Technical Education, Public Administration, Information Technology, Medicine & Engineering from a reputed and recognized institution.

Post Graduation Course

Post-Graduation Course in Science, Commerce, Business, Economics, Technical Education. Public Administration, Information Technology. Medicine & Engineering from a reputed and recognized institution.

Host institute: 
Scholarships will be awarded for Graduation/Post-Graduation courses will be awarded only to the students who take admission either in a public sector educational institution or in any private sector educational institution affiliated by the Higher Education Commission, Government of Pakistan from time to time.

Scholarships Benefits: 
Scholarships will be awarded on monthly basis

  • Intermediate: 4,500 RS , seats: 120
  • Graduation 6,000 Rs, Seats: 60
  • Post-Graduation: 9,000 Rs, Seats: unlimited

Eligibility: 
Scholarships will be awarded to those children who have secured "A +", "A" or "B" grades or have obtained at least 60% marks in Matriculation / Intermediate / Graduation Examination during the c year 2015. Students are not getting scholarships from any other institution or the Government. Candidates who have passed "A" and "O" level examinations under the Cambridge System are also eligible for this Scheme.

Admissibility/ Withdrawal:
 

The scholarships will be granted on the merit basis.

The scholarship will be withdrawn where children fail or do not appear in the examination
